Purpose

The task of the Medical Affairs Manager is to provide high level scientific support for internal and external customers for ophthalmology therapeutic area and products. The Medical Affairs Manager ensures the scientific credibility of all information provided by the company. The Medical Affairs Manager Nordic acts also as Responsible Person for the wholesale license for Santen Pharma AB and as such ensure that GDP requirements are fulfilled. 

Central Tasks

The Medical Affairs Manager Nordic:

  • Supports the product(s) as Brand of Choice through medical communications, scientific support for promotional activities and other related medical activities including, but not limited to, studies, trainings and medical information

  • Is responsible for the Nordic region for implementing the EMEA medical affairs strategy and to start up and implement the countries medical affairs plan and develop and follow up for the therapeutic areas and products assigned

  • Is the main contact point for clinical trials and ISS in the region

  • Develops, maintains and extend relations with KOLs, liaison to HCPs/HCOs by means and identifying and supporting efforts of professional associations and patients advocacy groups

  • Evaluate scientific value of projects for which support is needed from the company

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable SOPs , local and international rules and regulations

Responsible person for wholesale license/GDP

  • Ensures implementation of corporate SOPs in the local QMS

  • Establishes and maintain the local QMS

  • Creates and implement local/regional SOPs as appropriate

  • Handle any other tasks agreed and according to delegation from QA

Experience and Skills

  • Strong background and experience from pharma industry

  • Strong communication abilities

  • High commitment to performance and holds high ethical standards

  • Takes own initiative and pro-active action as well as high empowerment

  • Experience from working in cross-functional and multi-cultural environments
