Nordic Medical Therapeutic Area Lead Breast Cancer

Nordic Medical Therapeutic Area Lead Breast Cancer, AstraZeneca Nordics

The world of Medical Affairs is evolving, fueled by changing demographics, new expectations, and technological possibilities. At AstraZeneca Oncology, we are striving to make cure a reality for the millions of people across the world living with cancer every day. Our focus is on some of the most hostile and hard-to-treat cancers including pancreatic cancer, certain blood cancers, and cancers within breast, lung, ovarian, and prostate. By understanding the complexities of these cancer types, we can truly achieve life-changing benefits for patients.

We are balancing our focus on our industry-leading pipeline with the active life-cycle management of our existing medicines; expanding indications and exploring new novel treatment combinations, to deliver to those patients with the greatest unmet need. Patients are always front of mind in everything we do – from the treatment options we provide and the daily impact these treatments can have.

 AstraZeneca in Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is one of our key focus areas. As our understanding of the features that fuel this complex tumour type grows, the way we classify breast cancer and the way we treat it will undoubtedly change, something we are spearheading at AstraZeneca. We are leading an exciting phase of scientific discovery and innovation and are identifying novel ways of improving outcomes for patient populations which are associated with poor clinical outcomes. We continue to strive for improved testing to identify the actionable targets of an individual’s breast cancer and bring the benefits of a biomarker-driven approach to even more patients.
