The role

The Policy & Patient Affairs Manager for Oncology is accountable for developing and implementing national policy shaping strategies and plans to support Oncology. Additionally, the Policy & Patient Affairs Manager will manage the ongoing relationships with National Patient Organizations and in collaboration with patient groups, develop and implement key strategic projects. The Policy & Patient Affairs Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams across medical, marketing, diagnostics and sales to ensure alignment to strategy and strong execution.

This role reports to the GAMA Head, Sweden and is located in the Södertälje office.

Accountabilities

  • Lead policy shaping activities such as early detection and diagnosis of cancer (priority lung cancer & ovarian cancer), Payer acceptance of non-OS endpoints, Time to market access and need for IVS, Broad access to biomarker testing: focus on HRD & preparation for HER2low, ctDNA
  • Lead cross-functional team in development and execution of strategic plan
  • Work closely with Global to ensure alignment to Global strategies and integration of best practices
  • Establish relevant KPIs and ensure successful attainment
  • Lead prioritized Ecosystem Projects to support patient journey such as LC and OC Ecosystems and Vision Zero Cancer
  • Lead cross-functional team in development and execution of strategic plan
  • Gather robust insights to drive strategy
  • Establish relevant KPIs and ensure successful attainment
  • Participate in Franchise Teams and/ or LITs (Tagrisso/ Imfinzi, Lynparza, Calquence, Enhertu) and project teams as needed
  • Manage AZ relationship with Patient Groups such as: Nätverket mot cancer, LC, OC, BC, CLL

  • Strong understanding of Sweden market access, pricing and healthcare process
  • Experience in Oncology
  • Strategic thinking – able to consider both long term and short term
  • Excellent project leadership skills
  • Proven ability interacting with and influencing stakeholders
  • Previous experience in working with Patient Organizations
  • Strong communication & ability to collaborate effectively accross functions – both internally and externally
  • Entrepreneurial approach to problem solving/innovative in developing creative solutions
  • Able to synthesize insights to formulate strategies
  • Pharmaceutical experience in primary care
  • Good scientific understanding
  • High performer and results oriented with proven results

 

Desirable Qualifications

Previous exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business such as Sales, Marketing, Medical, Market Access or Health Economics
